The Kwara state governor, AbdulFatah Ahmed has advocated the reduction of 50 per cent state counterpart funding for the Universal Basic Education projects to 10 per cent.
The governor made the call while playing host to the a delegation from UBEC in his office in Ilorin.
Ahmed said this is necessary in view of the current economic reality.
He said the continuous dwindling federal allocation to states has made it difficult for states to contribute their 50 per cent counterpart funds to UBEC.
