The Nigerian Association of Nephrology says 30 per cent Nigerians have acute kidney failure.
This alarming prevalence rate is of worry to the association.
The President of the association, Babatunde Salako said the 30 per cent prevalent level excludes those lesser than 18 years of age.
Salako disclosed that the prevalence level covers stages 1 to 5.
He said the federal government can assist the patients by increasing the number of dialysis sessions covered by the National Health Insurance Scheme from 6 to 36.
