The Nigerian Army said its troops killed several Boko Haram terrorists at Goniri community in Gubio Local Government Area of Yobe, on Friday.
The Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Nureni Alimi, revealed this to journalists on Sunday in Maiduguri .
He said the insurgents escaped their enclaves in Sambisa Forest and tried to infiltrate the community but the troops had engaged and killed many of insurgents and wounded several others in the attack.

He added that high calibre ammunition were recovered from the fleeing terrorists.
Alimi said preliminary investigations indicated that information had been provided to the insurgents on troops’ movement in the area.
