The Theatre Commander, Operation Lafiya Dole, Rogers Nicholas, said the Nigerian Army has completely defeated the Boko Haram insurgents.
Nicholas stated this during the inauguration of the Nigeria-Cameroon Military Joint Mission in Maiduguri.
He disclosed that his troops under the operation DEEP PUNCH II, had dislodged and occupied the insurgents’ tactical ground “Camp Zairo”.

Hundreds of insurgents had surrendered, several others fled the enclave while more than a hundred civilians have been rescued.
