President Muhammadu Buhari is seeking the approval of the Senate for the confirmation of Edward Adamu as the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
Adamu,who is a Christian from Gombe State, replaces Sulaiman Barau, who retired in December, 2017.
The nominee, has spent 25 years in the CBN, and was appointed in 2012 as Director of Strategy.
He became Director, Human Resources in 2016, from where he was nominated as Deputy Governor.
His nomination is in accordance with the provisions of the Central Bank of Nigeria’s Establishment Act of 2007.
