Ministries, departments and agencies are now required to include in their annual budgets, a counter terrorism tax, which is expected to aid the funding and implementation of the national action plan.
This was disclosed by the National Security Adviser at the public presentation of the policy framework and national action plan for preventing and countering violent extremism in the country.
The Public Presentation of the policy framework and National action Plan for preventing and countering violent extremism, is government’s response to series of terror attacks by violent extremists across the country over the past few years.
This act has posed danger to the safety of lives and property of Nigerians and their neighbours.
The Policy frame work being put in place by Office of the National Security Adviser, is to check the spread of terrorism across the Country, by involving all Nigerians in ensuring it becomes a thing of the past .
The policy frame work will also strengthen the ongoing efforts in the handling of persons associated with violent extremism.
