Taraba State police command has confirmed the death of four persons in Friday’s early morning attack on the Tiv community of Ngutswan in Gassol Local Government Area of the State by suspected Fulani militia.
The attack was barely 12 hours after Governor Darius Ishaku raised an alarm of impending attacks in some communities in the state by Fulani militias.
The victims have been given mass burial as people started to desert the community for fear of further attacks.
Some fleeing residents while narrating their ordeals to TVC News, said some Fulani militiamen are still lurking in their communities, lamenting that no security personnel were deployed to protect them.
The police image maker in the state who spoke to TVC News described the style of the attack as armed robbery, adding that the attackers dispossessed the people of their valuables including four motorbikes.
