A 13-year-old male suicide bomber has reportedly been shot dead close to the University of Maiduguri in Borno state.
The bomber was gunned down by the security operatives, who sighted him as he was trying to sneak into the premises of the university.
This comes barely one week after terrorists released three UNIMAID staff, who were abducted while searching for oil in July last year.
University of Maiduguri has recorded at least five attacks from Boko Haram in the last one year.
Meanwhile, suspected members of Boko Haram are attacked Dapchi, Bursari local government area in yobe state last night.
Dapchi remains the only major town that has not experienced attack by the insurgents.
The Commissioner of Police, Sumonu Abdulmaliki who confirmed the the incident said security forces are currently battling to save the town.
