Three police officers and one naval rating were wounded in an inter-communal clash that broke out between Offa in Offa local government area and Ijagbo, Oyun local government area of Kwara state over a disputed land.
The public relations officer of the Kwara state police command disclosed this while speaking with news men.
The two towns are neighbours and they have had disagreement over the disputed land for years.
The situation became tense this morning when some buildings belonging to Ijagbo were allegedly destroyed by some Offa indigenes on the disputed land and Ijagbo indigenes also retaliated by destroying Offa buildings.
Some residents were said to be seriously wounded.
Both the state government and the state police command said they are on top of the situation.
A statement issued by the state government asked the two communities to maintain peace.
