Unseeded Algerian, Lynda Logrhaibi defeated fourth seed in the women’s category, Nigeria’s Edem Offiong and Ghana’s Derek Abrefa beat eighth seed, South Africa’s Kurt LINGEVELDT in the group stage.
Olympic veteran – Nigeria’s Segun Toriola was also tested by Algeria’s Sami Kherouf in the group round.
Egypt’s Dina Meshref battles Seychelles’ Christy Bristol, while Nigeria’s Olufunke Oshonaike faces her friend Cameroun’s Sarah Hanffou.
Edem Offiong will have her hands full when she takes on Tunisia’s Safa Saidani.
The last quarterfinal match is between Egypt’s Farah Abdel-Aziz and Algeria’s Loghraibi.
