Former spokesman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Olisa Metuh has appeared in court for the continuation of his corruption trial in a wheelchair. Metuh, who is facing a seven-count charge the EFCC preferred against him and his firm Destra investment applied to be allowed to travel to the United Kingdom for medical treatment.
He made the application through his lawyer, Emeka Etiaba (SAN)
Etiaba tendered a letter from one Dr Adrian T. h Kasey, a neurosurgeon at Wellington hospital in which he emphasized the need for metuh to be treated urgently. The lawyer also stated that Metuh has lost sensation of his lower limbs
Presiding judge, Justice Okon Abang requested both the prosecution and defence lawyers to address him whether the court could grant Metuh’s request considering that he previously dismissed two similar application on May 25 2016 and February 2017.
The court adjourned to 15 March for ruling.
