Five persons have been killed in fresh attacks by herders on communities in Sardauna local government area of Taraba State.
The state’s Police Public Relations Officer , David Misal, who confirmed the report says the the crisis which began on Thursday was as result of a misunderstanding between a farmer and a herder.
He said mobile policemen and soldiers from the 20 battalion in Serti have been deployed to the area to maintain law and order.
Meanwhile, the Fulani community of Mambila Plateau in Taraba State, has buried four kinsmen killed in Thursday’s clashes.
With this development, death toll from both sides has risen with Mambilla natives earlier reporting four of their own killed.
But the Taraba State police command says only six persons, four Fulanis and two Mambillans died in the clash.
Last June, violent clashes broke out in the area, claiming 18 lives and rendering thousands homeless.
