The Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has suspended by one month, the withdrawal of policemen attached to VIPs across the country.
The immediate suspension followed Idris’ meeting on Monday with the Commanders of Police Mobile Force Counter Terrorism Unit and Special Protection Unit
Force PRO, Jimoh Moshood says the withdrawal is to enable the Police carry out a thorough assessment of the current deployment and carry out appropriate withdrawal.
He added that the withdrawal will now take effect from April the 20th, 2018.
Meanwhile, IGP Idris, has approved the creation of a new mobile police squadron base in Shendam local government area of Plateau state.
Ibrahim Idris who laid the foundation in company of the State Governor Simon Lalong also inaugurated 51 vehicles for security operatives within the local government areas of the State.
