The Elders’ forum of the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) in Ondo state has dismissed a media report that the former Governor of the State, Olusegun Mimiko is planning to dump the party for the Social Democratic Party, (SDP).
The chairman of the forum and Former Nigerian Ambassador to Greece and Chairman, Professor Olu Agbi made the clarification at a news conference in Akure.
The social media was recently flooded with a report that Mimiko has pitched his tent with the SDP.
But Agbi noted that the former Governor had assured the party’s leadership that he would never defect from the PDP to another party.
He explained that PDP had resolved to be more formidable to have a good outing ahead of the 2019 general election.
Agbi however criticised the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for extending the tenure of the national chairman of the man and all the executive members.
