With the 2018 FIFA World Cup less than three months away the Volgograd Arena where the Super Eagles will play Iceland in their second group match is ready.

The 45,568 capacity stadium will host four games during the World Cup which begins in June.

The Volgograd arena will host three African teams in the group stage of the tournament with its first game on the 18th of June when Tunisia play England before the Nigeria-Iceland match on the 22nd.

Egypt will then square up with Saudi Arabia on the 25th inside the stadium, while Japan and Poland play their final group game there.

The distance from the Super Eagles base camp in Yessentuki to Volgograd is 634 kilometres, that’s five hours by flight.
