A university don has declared that Nigeria’s faulty curricula have made it difficult for the country to overcome poverty.
Abayomi Fashina a professor at the Federal University, Oye Ekiti was speaking in Ado Ekiti at an event organised by an APC Chieftain,Bimbo Daramola, where he interfaced with students who benefited from his 2018 annual free JAMB forms.
Delivering a paper entitled: ‘Nexus Between Education and Making of a Complete Man’, Fashina said education bridges the gap between the rich and the poor and that education gives one the opportunity to attain enviable social status.
He observed that it took Nigeria a long time to realise that skills and entrepreneurial education remained the best, so that graduates could be job creators rather than seekers after graduation.
The brain behind the programme, Bimbo Daramola said his free JAMB initiative was targeted at nurturing a new breed of leaders for Ekiti that would transform the state in the future.
Also speaking at the occasion, the APC spokesman announced that 35 governorship aspirants have officially notified the state secretariat and that a level playing ground would be made available to all aspirants.
