The Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, Dakuku Peterside, said the maritime sector has the capacity to accelerate Nigeria’s economic development.
He affirmed this conviction while receiving an ward for leadership excellence in public service at the 21st City People award Ceremony in Lagos.
Peterside called for more investment in maritime business, stating that there are untapped potential in the sector.

While underscoring the importance of the maritime sector to economic growth, he stated that the safety agency is filling the gaps in human capacity development and also setting an agenda for industry growth.
