Worried by the lingering security challenges in northern Nigeria, governors in the region have converged on the region’s capital to forge a way out.
They say the issue appears to be escalating, with deadly and destructive consequences.
Although only six out of the nineteen governors were physically present as at the time of filing this report, the governors promised that their meeting will take a hard look at the issues, and come up with ways of addressing them.
They noted that they would also evolve strategies to forestall security challenges in the future.
While condemning the recent abduction of school girls in Dapchi, Yobe state, the northern governors appreciated efforts by the Muhammadu Buhari led government to rescue them.
