The Ogun State Chapter of the Labour Party has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to do everything within his power to rescue more than 100 Dapchi school girls abducted by suspected Boko Haram insurgents in Yobe State.
The party, made the call through its state chairman, Biodun Owolabi, at its 2nd Executive Meeting, held at the party secretariat, Adatan, Abeokuta.
He condemned the poor security situation in the country and described the school girls abduction as a National tragedy. He however, called for Joint ‘Save Our School’ initiative by the government and security agencies, in order to keep Nigerian schools save.
While urging the government to intensify security situation in the country, the party kicked against creation of state police as one of the solutions to internal crises; its maintained that if governors were allowed to create police in their respective states, they will use it against their oppositions.
