Locals in Dundu community of Bassa local government area of Plateau State north central Nigeria Tuesday morning woke up to an unpleasant surprise; 25 villagers were ambushed and shot dead by suspected Fulani herdsmen, on Monday night .
The victims, according to eye witnesses, were returning from an event in a nearby community when they ran into the ambush.
The unfortunate incident occurred at a time when a community located a few kilometres from Dundu was preparing to bury their loved ones, 5 of them, killed by the same suspected Fulani herdsmen on the day President Buhari visited Plateau State.
And shortly after the 29 victims were laid to rest, some residents of the Irigwe communities expressed their dissatisfaction with the recent comment made by some plateau stakeholders during President Buhari’s State visit to Plateau state.
Worried by the recent incessant attack on Irigwe communities in Bassa local government area of Plateau State, the locals are calling on the international community to come to their aid and Stop what they described as an evil plan to drive them away from their ancestral homeland.
