As part of efforts to ensure people are not exposed to dangers through what they consume, the Standards Organization of Nigeria, SON has organised a sensitization workshop for shop and supermarket owners in Osun State on how to identify substandard and expired products.
The state coordinator of the Organization, said the rate at which expired products flood shops and supermarket in the state is worrisome, hence the need to stem the tide.
He appealed to residents of the state to cooperate with the Organization towards ridding Nigeria of these products and bring perpetrators to books.
According to him, substandard and expired products are not only harmful to the economy but also project the country in a false light.
Participants were taught on different methods of identifying substandard and expired products during the workshop.
