U.S. President Donald Trump has announced on Twitter that CIA director Mike Pompeo will replace Rex Tillerson as Secretary of State.The president did not provide any information on when Tillerson, would step down.
In the tweet, Trump also announced Gina Haspel would become the first female director of the CIA, replacing Pompeo.
“Congratulations to all,” Trump tweeted.
Mike Pompeo, Director of the CIA, will become our new Secretary of State. He will do a fantastic job! Thank you to Rex Tillerson for his service! Gina Haspel will become the new Director of the CIA, and the first woman so chosen. Congratulations to all!
