No fewer than ten corpses have been identified after an attack on villages in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.
Gunmen, whom the state government identified as herders, attacked six communities, killing people and burning homes.
The Chief Press Secretary to Governor Samuel Ortom, Mr Terver Akase confirmed the casualty on Saturday.
In a statement, he said, many innocent persons are feared killed during the attack which started on Friday night and lasted until the early hours of Saturday.
The communities affected by the invasion are Tse-Abi, Tse-Ginde, Tse-Peviv, Tse-Ikyo, Agenke and Gbenke.
Benue State has seen a number of fatal attacks in recent times.
Days ago, soldiers burnt homes in Naka village, Gwer West LGA in apparent retaliation for the killing of their colleague. At least one person died in the blaze.
