The Provost of the Federal College of Agriculture, Akure, Dr. Samson Odedina said Nigeria can only overcome food insecurity if special training are organised periodically for both old and young farmers.
Odedina was speaking at a Federal Government supported Agricultural Value Chain Development Training for Unemployed Graduate-Farmers in Akure, the state capital. He said many food crops perish during harvest because most farmers lack basic techniques of framing
Odedina is of the view that agriculture is like every other profession which requires training and re-training. He added that the college is training young farmers who will add value to the nation”s agricultural system.
