The leadership of the National Assembly has given the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris and the Director General of the Department of State Security, DSS, 24-hours to produce stolen Mace.
The Upper chamber gave the order after an executive session on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the Senate has described the action of suspended Senator Ovie Omo-Agege as a treasonable felony.
In a statement by the spokesperson of the Senate, Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi said the action is an attempt to overthrow an arm of government by snatching the mace which is its symbol of authority.
Abdullahi urged all Security agencies to stand on the side of due process and immediately mobilize their personnel to retrieve the mace and apprehend the mastermind and the perpetrators of this act.
Hoodlums suspected to be loyal to the suspended Delta Central Senator, Ovie Omo-Agege, had on Wedesday during plenary, invaded the Senate chamber, snatched and ran away with the Mace which is the symbol of authority.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police has arrested the suspended Senator, Ovie Omo-Agege after he led some hoodlums to the Senate chamber and run away with the Mace.
