The National Human Rights Commission has trained the armed forces on mainstreaming human rights and civilian protection in counter insurgency operations. Executive Secretary of National Human Rights Commission, Tony Okukwu, charged the armed forces to respect human rights in their counter insurgency operation. He commended the gallantry of all officers in the war against extremism.
The United Nations also pledged support to actualise civilian protection in crisis situations.
