At least eleven persons have been killed in a drive by shooting in a community in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau state.
Police said the attack was carried out by suspected herdsmen militia on Sunday evening.
An eyewitness who described the unfortunate incident disclosed that the attack took place at about 8:30 on Sunday night.
The Plateau state Police have also confirmed the shooting. Spokesperson Matthias Tyopev says residents of the community put out a distress call to the police.

More security personnel have been deployed to the area to prevent further attacks.
