Former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Charles Soludo has expressed sadness over the death of Nigeria’s first executive President and elder statesman, Alhaji Shehu Shagari (1925 – 2018)

He described him as a detribalized Nigerian who was committed to the course of a united, indivisible and prosperous country.
Mr Soludo said President Shagari believed so much in an all-inclusive governance, and was one of the patriotic Nigerians who contributed to laying the foundation of sustainable democracy.
