A Federal High Court in Lagos has adjourned the alleged 6.9 billion naira fraud case against Ekiti state former governor, Ayodele Fayose, to the 4th, 5th and 6th of February, for further hearing.
Former Minister of Defence for State, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro testified on Monday against Fayose.
Obanikoro, the fifth prosecution witness, being led in evidence by EFCC counsel Rotimi Jacobs SAN, said an equivalent of $5m (that’s at least 1.6 billion naira) removed from the National Security Adviser’s impress account was given to Mr Fayose on the orders of the agency’s ex-boss, Colonel Sambo Dasuki.
He added that another #200m was given to Fayose on the 5th of June, 2014, and another 2 billion naira given to Mr Fayose during the state’s governorship election on June 16, 2014, from the same NSA account.
The judge, Mojisola Olatoregun granted the request of Mr Fayose’s counsel Kanu Agabi SAN, to adjourn the case to February to allow him cross-examine the witness.
