The Tennis season is on the way in Australia with the Brisbane international where Defending champion Nick Kyrgios’s campaign is done and dusted after a three-set defeat to French journeyman Jeremy Chardy.

The Australian’s 6-7, 6-2, 6-3 defeat means he will crash out of the world’s top 50 for the first time in four years and will miss out on an Australian Open seeding, with the loss expected to plummet his ranking from No.35 to 52.

Chardy will next face Japanese qualifier Yasutaka Uchiyama, who beat 3rd seed Kyle Edmund.
