The Confederation of African Football, CAF has confirmed that Cote d’ Ivoire will host the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
This development means Cameroon who were stripped of the right to stage this year’s event can host 2021 edition.
Cote d’ Ivoire initially had the 2021 rights and had resisted hosting the Nations cup two years later. But after President Alassane Ouattara met Caf President Ahmad Ahmad, a deal was sealed.
Guinea, who had been slated for 2023, will now host the 2025 edition of the tournament.
The 2019 event will be the first Nations Cup to feature 24 teams.
