A Federal high court sitting in Abuja has affirmed Uche Ogah as the dully nominated candidate for the APC in the 2019 governorship election in the Abia state.
Delivering its judgement, Justice Annuli Chikere held that it is the primaries conducted by the party’s national executive that is valid and recognized by section 87 of the electoral Act as such the primaries that produced Ogah its the valid primaries.
Justice Chikere also held that the governorship primaries conducted by the state executive of the APC in Abia state is illegal, null and void.
She barred INEC from substituting the name of Mr Ogah with any other candidate presented by the party.
Uche Ogah had dragged the All Progressive Congress and the candidate nominated by the state executive of the party Ikechi Emenike to court, asking the court to decide the validly nominated candidate of the party in the state.
