Political Analyst Sarikis Kassargian has blamed Internal divisions and the changing situation including the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Syria for the slow progress in the Kurdish negotiations with parties.
According to local media reports, the Kurdish forces have been in contact with the Syrian government, but little substantial progress has been achieved due to internal divisions over concerns about their ties with the United States.
U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Dec. 19, 2018 that U.S. troops would start moving out of Syria after claiming a victory in the fight against the Islamic State (IS).
