Captain of the Super Eagles, John Mikel Obi has given an indication he could return to the national team in 2019 after he posted a picture of himself in action for Nigeria on his Instagram page with the caption, “Can’t-Wait”.
Mikel Obi has missed Nigeria’s last five games against Seychelles, two home and away games against Libya, South Africa and Uganda.
This fueled talks about an impending retirement from the national team after 13 years.
But Coach of the Eagles Gernot Rohr insists that the former Tianjin TEDA and Chelsea midfielder remains in his plans for 2019.

Nigeria’s next international match is the inconsequential last 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match at home against Seychelles on the 22nd of March.
