It has become a ritual for people to make resolutions at the beginning of a new year. Such resolutions are always accompanied by great expectations.
Ayodeji Moradeyo reports that at the beginning of a new year, people make resolutions. They make promises to change their behaviour, attitude, lifestyle and other things.
Many residents of Akure, the Ondo State capital engage in this yearly
ritual. Their resolutions are in different forms.
What they want to do and drop in the new year varies, as some even attach
spirituality to their comments. They are also expecting elections that will reflect true wishes of the people.
Many want a better living condition in the new year, as some expressed
their readiness to move closer to God.
Above all, people are expected to match their promise with action, for them
to achieve their new year’s resolutions.
