The Joint Health Sector Union (JOHESU) said it will hold a crucial National Executive Council meeting in Abuja on Thursday.
The meeting is preparatory to the commencement of a nationwide strike following the expiration of a 15 day strike notice to the government.
A statement by JOHESU chairman, Josiah Biobelemoye, said the meeting has become necessary following government’s alleged flagrant disregard to court orders.
JOHESU accuses government of activating the ‘no work, no pay rule’,contrary to the ruling of the National Industrila Court, even when the strike has yet to commence.
The union is, therefore, demanding the full implementation of consolidated Health Salary Structure, CONHESS, which is to create equity among healthcare professionals in the sector.
