The abducted chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Abia state, Donatus Nwankpa, has regained his freedom and reunited with his family members.
Nwankpa was reportedly kidnapped together with one of his aides on Monday night on his way to Aba, the commercial hub of the state, few hours to the visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to the state.
His abductors later released his aide who sustained some injuries.
Our correspondent reports that members of the All Progressives Congress members in Abia State were seeing in jubilation, as their abducted Chairman Donatus Nwankpa returned home safely.
The Publicity Secretary of the Party in the state, Benedict Godson, said he was released on Thursday night and no ransom was paid.
