President Muhammadu Buhari has been urged to use all legitimate instruments to prevent vote buying and selling in the coming election.
Former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Osun state, Ajibola Basiru spoke in Osogbo at “the Frontliners” a programme organised by the Association of Veteran Journalists of the state chapter.
Basiru described vote buying as a cancer that is having a great adverse effect on choosing the right leaders and urged President Buhari to use all legal means to reverse the trend.
Speaking on the sensitivity of the legislature, the former commissioner for Justice said people of integrity with high sense of responsibility should occupy the seats at the National Assembly.
On the prevalence of defection across all political party, the legal luminary blamed political parties for not programmatic and ideologically based.
