The Yewa Traditional Council has called on the Federal Government to devise a means of creating job opportunities for the youths within the border communities.
The call became necessary because of the incessant killings between smugglers and customs officials
around Owode Yewa axis and other parts of Ogun West.
The Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle who led other traditional rulers at a press conference held at Obas complex in Ilaro, accused the customs of taking laws into their hands under the guise of fighting smugglers.
The monarchs while making reference to the recent killing of five of their subjects, noted that till date, the perpetrators of the killings are yet to be brought to book.
While condemning the mode of operations of the customs officers, the royal father declared that, the activities of the customs should be limited to the border areas alone.
