The presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic party, Atiku Abubakar ,has filed a petition at the Court of Appeal in Abuja, sitting as the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.
Mr Abubakar and his party are challenging the outcome of the presidential election, on the grounds of alleged electoral malpractices and non conformity with the electoral law.
The petitioner is praying that they be declared winner of the election.
The petitioner is also pray the tribunal to nullify the poll and order a fresh one to be conducted in line with the provisions of the electoral law.
Respondents in the petition are the All progressive Congress, President Muhammad Buhari and the Independent National Electoral Commission.
The PDP and its presidential candidate have assembled a legal team of 20 Senior Advocates of Nigeria and other lawyers, as well as more than 400 witnesses.
