Voting has been concluded in some polling units across the states as sorting and counting of ballots have began in some units.
From Kano State, the Peoples’ Democratic Party in Kano State, has challenged the conduct of the Governorship Re-run in the state.
According to the PDP, Political thugs were hired to disrupt the electoral process in the state.
The All Progressives Congress APC in their response described the Re-run as peaceful and called on the Independent National Electoral Commission to ignore and continue with the process.
As early as 8:00am residents converged on various Polling Units across the 28 Local Government Areas where supplementary elections are taking place.
At Dala Local Government, elections held at some areas peacefully with Security Operatives manning areas where voting points were situated.
Political Thugs were dispersed by armed security men at some wards in Dala.
The Conduct of the Election re-run was not suitable to the Peoples’ Democratic Party PDP. According to the Party, thugs were allegedly imported from neighboring states to disrupt the process.
They called on the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC to cancel the election.
The All Progressives Congress APC in Kano says allegations raised by the Peoples’ Democratic Party ares unfounded. They urged INEC to continue the process.
All eyes are on Kano as residents await the outcome of the re-run elections.
