The Lagos State House of Assembly finally passed into law the 2019 appropriation bill after it scaled third reading.
The uncertainty surrounding the passage of the Lagos Budget finally became history on Monday as Lawmakers settled down to take the third reading of the 2019 appropriation bill.
The house had at its Friday plenary taken the report of the appropriation committee which highlighted a few adjustments in the money bill as well as
gave some recommendations relating to some capital projects carried out by the executive. But subsequently, deliberations were suspended.
A budget size of N874,859,460,725 was passed for the fiscal year . A clean copy of the bill has been forwarded to Governor for his assent.
In a rather funny twist, a PDP lawmaker representing Amuwo-Odofin constituency 1 in the state house of Assembly, Dipo Olorunrinu has
defected to the All Progressives Congress.
Dipo who is the last PDP lawmaker standing two years after 7 other members of his party defected to the APC, saying his decision to dump the PDP is due to the achievements recorded by the APC in its desire to move the country and the state forward.
Dipo who described PDP as a sinking party apologised to the house for his delayed defection and vowed to work with the party in helping it achieve
it’s goals in the state.
