Victory eventually came the way of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared its candidate, Nyesom Wike, the winner of the governorship poll.
Nyesom wike polled 886,264 votes to defeat the closest contender, Awara Biokpomabo of the African Action Congress who scored 173,859 votes.
