A non -governmental organization known as the united global resolve for peace is calling on the Nigerian government to properly regulate the
activities of the Treasury Single Account (TSA).
They made the call while briefing journalists at the end of investigations they had conducted on service charges payments made by Nigerians.
TVC’s Kemi Balogun reports that President Muhammad Buhari has championed the need to bring corruption to its knees since he took up power as Nigeria’s president in 2015.
The treasury single account created by the previous government and enforced by this present administration, is an integral part of strategies put in place to tackle corruption across MDAs and other government parastatals.
But this group says while the Treasury single account is curbing corruption in those quarters, it has also become a channel for exploiting Nigerians, who now have to pay service charges for TSA transactions.
The group is calling on the government to review the amount Nigerians have to pay as service charge or completely take up the payments.
