The need to improve hygiene and reduce open defecation among the less privileged and the Almajiri children in particular, has raised a lot of concern.
It has prompted a non governmental organisation decided to embark on the renovation and construction of new toilet facilities to some selected Allo schools in Katsina metropolis.
TVC News correspondent in Katsina state, Abdullatif Yusuf, reports that affected children are happy with the new dormitory and two toilets provided to their Allo school. At least they now have where to bath and ease themselves conveniently.
It is common knowledge that most of the Allo schools in town have operated for over 20 years with a large number of pupils, and only a
little improvement in such facilities.
Jaiz foundation is weary of this development and has decided to provide toilets facilities to some select Allo schools. Four Allo schools have so far benefited from the exercise.
