The Nigerian Air force is set to celebrate its 55th Anniversary from 27 – 29 April, 2019 in Abuja.
To boost its fight against insurgency and insecurity, the Nigerian Air force says it is expecting eighteen more aircraft and two of them would be unveiled at the ceremony.
The idea of establishing an air force for Nigeria was first conceived in 1961 following the country’s participation in peace-keeping operations in Congo and Tanzania.
But the recruitment of cadets commenced in June 1962.
As part of activities to mark the event, the NAF says it will be showcasing its air power capabilities in an Order of Battle, ORBAT, fly past.
Mr Daramola, an air-commodore, urged members of the public to go about their normal activities without panic or fear during the activities.
