Researchers and administrators at the Nigeria Health Leadership Conference are confident effective conflict management and leadership would transform healthcare in the country.
Correspondent Lanre Adeyemi, who joined the healthcare practitioners at the conference, reports that life expectancy, the average age a person is expected to live in Nigeria is estimated at 53 years.
It is much higher in other countries. In South Africa, it is 62 years while a person is expected to live up to 78 years on the average in the united states.
Nigeria’s low life expectancy is an indication of the poor health care delivery system in the country.
Another issue that dominates discussions here is how to create synergy between different professions in the healthcare sector. Effective conflicts management is also a major challenge.
Participants at the workshop hope that their proposals would bring a permanent resolution to a chunk of the challenges hindering quality healthcare delivery in Nigeria.
