Africa has been challenged to come together and develop a strategy to address problem related to infectious diseases.
The Director, World Bank African Centre of Excellence for Genomics of Infectious Disease, Professor Christian Happy stated this at the South West Award of Excellence held in Ede, Osun State.
According to him, whatever assistance given by foreign donors cannot be enough to fight these scourge hence the need for the black continent to rise up to the challenge.
He wants government to give supports to researchers and tertiary institutions in Nigeria to be able to domesticate vaccines that can prevent these infectious diseases.
The event featured presentation of award to the guest speaker, Professor Christian Happiness, Vice Chancellor of Ladoke Akintola University, Professor Michael Ologunde among others.
