Former agitators of the Niger Delta, have described the disruption of traffic at the East-West Road today, as an awareness creation protest, to draw attention of the Federal Government, to incessant armed robbery and kidnapping along the road.
Commuters who endured the three-hour barricade, also called for more security, to deal with the rising wave of crime along the road.
The former agitators are not happy with development concerning their welfare but more importantly, security issues along the Trans Niger Delta road.
It was a busy day for security agencies trying to persuade the former agitators to dislodge the barricade for a free flow of traffic with commuters complaining of the loss of man hours on the road.
The youth eventually budged but promised to return if the situation fails to improve.
