The Nigerian Army has taken delivery of a cache of arms and ammunition meant for the fight against insurgency and banditry in the country.
The weapons from Slovakia arrived the Nnamdi Azikiwe international airport Abuja on board a Boeing 747-400 cargo plane.
The Head of the Army’s Operations Monitoring Team who received the consignment refused to speak on camera. But confirmed the Weapons were procured from Slovakia.
The previous procurement of arms and ammunition was from Belarus.
The countries are deemed friendly in the sale of weapons to Nigeria, despite attempts to stop the sale of arms to the country.
